Louise Gillet de Chalonge has a Bachelor’s degree from Aix-Marseille Université and a Master’s degree from Sorbonne Université in biology and ecology. She gained research experience in various projects related to astrobiology, including at the French National Museum of Natural History and at the German Aerospace Center. She has been a PhD student at Dublin City University since January 2024, focusing on the formation of protocells in Archean hydrothermal environments and their potential preservation in silica. She is also interested in extremophile microorganisms and their relevance to astrobiology and origin of life.
