Katy completed a BSc in Zoology at Aberystwyth University in 2023 and an MScR in Palaeontology and Geobiology in 2024 at The University of Edinburgh. She started a PhD at Dublin City University with ProtoSigns Lab in July 2025. Her research looks into the applications of organic geo-chemistry in identifying novel biosignatures left behind by some of the earliest traces of life on Earth, including those up to 3.4 billion years old.
