Devyani obtained her BS-MS degree in Earth and Climate Sciences from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune. She carried out her Masters research at the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences, Lucknow, where she investigated Neoproterozoic stromatolites from Central India. In July 2024, she joined ProtoSigns Lab as a PhD student. Her research focuses on the synthesis of Noachian Martian-analogous systems, the entombment of Mars-relevant microorganisms within these systems, and the assessment of biosignature preservation and alteration during simulated diagenetic processes under Noachian Martian conditions.
